Rock Paintings

The abundance of caves, natural shelters and cave paintings that exist in the Cabeza del Buey mountain ranges are a true reflection of the fact that these lands were inhabited by inhabitants since prehistoric times.

Remains of primitive man have survived to the present day in Puerto Alonso, Cerro Estanislado, Valle de la Cueva and Morro de la Fuente del Peral.

The latest find was in the Sierra de la Rinconada, called Abrigo del Águila.
